Pawly collects only what it needs to run: your account, your pets, and what you choose to share. We don’t sell your data and there are no ads.
Your account and what you share (pets, photos, videos, posts, stories, comments, messages, events and settings) are stored on Pawly’s servers, which are provided by Supabase. Photos and videos are kept in private storage and are shown only to the people who are allowed to see them (for example, followers of a private account). Notification choices and small settings are also saved with your account so they follow you to a new phone.
Account: name, email, and your password in scrambled form (never the password itself). Profile: optional photo, username, pronouns, bio, website, city, birthday and phone (birthday and phone are never shown to others). Pets: name, breed, age, photos, traits and vaccine records you enter. Activity: posts, stories, comments, messages, likes, matches, follows, events, blocks and the reports you send. Reports are kept so we can review them; the person you report is never told who reported them.
Supabase hosts the database, sign-in and file storage. When you search for a place, what you type is sent to the Photon place search (by komoot). Maps are drawn with OpenStreetMap tiles, and sample photos in the demo content load from stock photo sites. These services see your phone’s internet address and what was requested, not your account.
If you allow it, Pawly uses your approximate location to show places and events near you. Your exact location is never shown to anyone and isn’t stored.
Pawly opens your photos or camera only when you choose to add a picture, and uses only the pictures you pick.
If you allow notifications, Pawly sends reminders and alerts you can turn off by type in Settings > Notifications.
You can edit your profile, delete posts and stories, block people, and delete your account in Settings > Delete account. Deleting your account removes your account, pets, posts, comments, stories, messages, matches, follows, events, photos and videos and activity from Pawly right away.
Pawly is for people who are at least 16. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has an account, tell us at the address below and we will remove it.
